Adult video hosting website Pornhub released what it called The 2022 Year in Review, a series of eye-opening statistics about what its visitors have searched for, revealing the trends behind America’s changing attitudes toward sex.
Internationally, the transgender category grew 75 percent, becoming the seventh most popular worldwide and number one in Brazil.
In the US, users from red states stay on the website longer than visitors from democratic states and the term ‘trans’ was also searched disproportionately more in the historically red state of West Virginia.
The US was by far the country that generated the most traffic to the Canadian-owned website, with the UK in second position, followed by France, Japan, Mexico, Italy and Germany.
Popular searches varied significantly across the US.
