Porn star reveals how he landed X-rated role in Netflix’s Menendez brothers series – and responds to fan backlash

Adult film star Mick Blue has spoken out about his role in Netflix’s hit series Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.

The 48-year-old porn star and director landed a role as an extra in the hit show within ‘three hours’ of auditioning and was amazed to see how ‘quickly’ the ‘incredible’ series came together.

The first season of Monsters, co-created by Ryan Murphy, focused on prolific cannibal serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, played by Evan Peters.

Mick also revealed what the cast really thinks about the intense controversy surrounding the series which sparked a frenzy on social media as viewers lambasted the makers for cashing in on the grief of the victims’ loved ones.

For season two, the anthology turned its attention to another infamous true crime story: Lyle and Erik Menendez, who murdered their parents in 1989.

And despite the show giving viewers the creeps, Mick revealed it was ‘amazing’ being on the set of the series, which dropped on the streaming platform on September 19, and spoke about Cooper Koch and Nicholas Chavez – who plays Lyle and Erik played.

He admitted to DailyMail.com that he got the role on a flight to Las Vegas.

‘I saw the audition call for a background actor, immediately submitted my audition and three hours later I was booked for the role! It was a quick turnaround. β€œI couldn’t believe it when I found out I would be part of Ryan Murphy’s anthology series,” he explained.

Mick stands out from the crowd in the third episode of the series when Lyle takes off his toupee while in jail.

β€œI was lucky enough to be in a featured role where the audience could see me clearly. Often in background roles you aren’t that visible, but this time it all came together so quickly. You have to start with those small moments to get to the big ones,” he told DailyMail.com.

When the porn star first stepped onto set, he was shocked by how welcoming everyone was, despite the terrifying nature of the show.

He told DailyMail.com: ‘Although the story is very chilling, the atmosphere on set was great and amazing.’

The porn star noted that he had a blast making the show and wasn’t put off by the gruesome story.

He added: ‘The experience was wonderful. Everyone on set, from crew to cast, was super nice and determined to create the best show possible.

β€œLike a perfectly functioning team, and when you watch the show, you see it. The cinematography and acting, especially from Cooper and Nicholas, are simply phenomenal.”

To fit the role, he had to ditch his nice guy persona and keep his glamor on for a whopping two hours.

Mick explained that the crew told him he had to get tattooed before undergoing extensive body paint.

He added: β€œIt was the first time I spent two and a half hours in makeup getting sticker tattoos.

‘They said to me: ‘You look too nice, let’s get you tattooed!’ It was a really great experience.’

Although he didn’t spend much time with Nicholas and Cooper, he revealed some key aspects of their personalities to DailyMail.com.

“My direct work with them was too short to form a friendship, but I’ve had quite a bit of time to talk to Cooper and I have to say he’s a really cool guy and super nice.” Nicholas was more the quiet type who kept to himself,” Mick told DailyMail.com.

Despite rising to Netflix’s top 10, the series has made waves over its sexual nature and over-the-top moments.

Mick spoke out against the backlash her show has received and said the cast had not let it get to them.

He told DailyMail.com: ‘I think when you make a TV show like this, people are always going to talk badly about it. In this world you can’t make things right for everyone. Personally, I’m a big fan of Ryan Murphy’s work and also what he created with this show.

‘The sexuality in this show is a matter of viewer taste. I think it’s the point of view of the people involved and the research he’s done that really matters. Showing it on a platform like this fits in with the times we live in now.

‘Only Erik and Lyle Menendez know what the real true story is ultimately. I believe something really bad must have happened for them to actually decide to kill their parents.”
