Popular Woolworths meal Indya Foods Ashoka Palak Paneer pulled from shelves over allergen fear

A popular pantry meal sold in Woolworths stores across the country has been pulled from shelves amid fears it contains a hidden allergen.

Indya Foods’ Ashoka Palak Paneer 280g was urgently recalled on Saturday as the packaging did not mention the presence of cashew nuts in the listed ingredients.

Products with an expiration date of June 15, 2025 are included in the recall.

Food Standards Australia New Zealand urged Woolworths shoppers with a cashew allergy to check their products.

‘Consumers with a cashew allergy or intolerance may experience a reaction if the product is consumed,’ Food Standards said.

‘Consumers with a cashew allergy or intolerance should not consume this product. All consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.”

Consumers are urged to return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.
