A popular tourist park has been closed after a nighttime incident turned into a tragedy.
SA Police confirmed an incident was being investigated on Saturday at the Morialta Conservation Park, north-east of Adelaide.
In a post shared on Facebook around 7 a.m., police reported that the park had been closed and asked people to “avoid the area until further notice.”
Residents in the area said they had heard the police helicopter hovering over the park around 1 am.
“We had helicopters flying from 1:30 am for hours,” a woman shared.

Just before 11 a.m., police confirmed that the situation had been resolved and revealed that there had been one death.
SAPOL told NCA NewsWire there were no suspicious circumstances.
The park is expected to reopen shortly.
