An emergency recall has been issued for a popular stroller amid fears that babies and young children could be seriously injured.
The product recall includes Silver Cross Reef all-terrain strollers for infants and toddlers Earth, Neptune and Orbit models.
A spokesperson for the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission advised that the locking mechanism on one side of the stroller may not engage properly.
“If the locking mechanism is not properly engaged, the stability of the stroller handle will be reduced,” the spokesperson said.
‘If the locking mechanism becomes completely loose during use, the stroller may collapse.’
The strollers were sold in stores across Australia and online between July 1, 2022 and October 31, 2023.
The spokesperson said defects had occurred and there was a risk that babies or young children could suffer serious injuries if the stroller collapsed during use.
“Immediately stop using the stroller and check the serial number to see if it is being recalled,” the spokesperson said.
The ACCC has warned that if the locking mechanism is not properly locked, the stability of the stroller handle will be reduced and if it disengages it could collapse (pictured)
Models including Earth, Neptune, and Orbit may not lock correctly
“Consumers should contact Premium Brands to arrange a chassis replacement.”
