One of Netflix’s most popular shows has announced a cast shake-up ahead of the airing of series three in 2024.
Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the next Bridgeton season, which will focus on the lovable Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and her old crush Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) as their story unfolds.
Although the official release date has yet to be announced, it is already known who will return from the previous series and some familiar faces are missing, including one of the show’s standout stars.
Phoebe Dynevor will not be returning to season three of the show after helping the show to its dizzying heights of success in 2020.
The actress played Daphne Bridgerton in the first series as the drama focused on the love life of the fourth Bridgeton child and the Duke of Hastings, Simon Bassett (Regé-Jean Page).

Phoebe confirmed the news that she won’t be back for series three after taking on more of a backseat role in series two.
Her on-screen husband Simon also didn’t appear in series two, and it’s believed that now that Phoebe’s absence has been confirmed, he won’t be returning either.
Speaking about her future in Bridgerton with Screen Rant, she said: ‘Unfortunately not in season three. Possibly in the future.
“But season three, I’m just excited to watch as a viewer.”
Meanwhile, fan favorites Nicola Coughlan will of course return with her love interest Colin Bridgerton, played by Luke Newton, as this series focuses on Penelope’s budding relationship with the Bridgerton boy.
One of the younger Bridgerton sisters, Francesca, will also be replaced as actress Ruby Stokes has resigned from the role.
Hannah Dodd will instead take over the character after starring in Netflix’s Anatomy Of A Scandal in 2022.
Ruby can no longer fill the role due to other work commitments after being cast in another Netflix series, Lockwood & Co.

Season two set pulses racing thanks to the slow burn of Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley)’s epic romance between enemies and lovers.
Now the rumor mill is already churning with fan theories about what could happen next, as the focus turns to Penelope and Colin – who are called Polin by devoted Bridgerton enthusiasts.
The series will be inspired by Julia Quinn’s novel Romancing Mr Bridgerton, which features some of the series’ most beloved sex scenes.
