KIIS radio host Will McMahon breaks down as he apologizes for his bad behavior and admits he struggles with his mental health: ‘I don’t like myself very much’
Will McMahon has been an open book about his mental health issues, often using his radio platform to spread awareness.
Now the KIIS Network star let the emotions flow in a vulnerable post on the Will & Woody show on Thursday that left producers in tears.
The radio star broke down and apologized to producers and his co-host Woody Whitelaw for being “a real d**k” after suffering a dip in his mental health.
“I don’t like myself very much at the moment and if I don’t like myself, let’s face it, I’ve been a real jerk these past few weeks,” he said.
“I feel really bad about that because I know you guys are with me all day, every day and I can be really hard to deal with when I’m like this.”

He went on to say he was “over-controlling” to make up for the insecurity he feels and said he “hates anyone who takes that control away.”
“It becomes a really vicious cycle because you see other people hurt around you and you end up bruising them and not listening to what’s going on below you,” he added.
And because the more you hate yourself, the more you want to be in control and the more you are in control, the more you hate yourself — it just doesn’t stop and it’s very hard for me to exhaust .’

The radio star ended his emotional message by thanking his colleagues for being patient with him and expressing appreciation to listeners for being patient with their own struggling loved ones.
Will began his radio career in 2012 as a weekend breakfast show host on the HIT Network alongside Woody.
After two years, the schoolyard friends moved to Perth to host 92.9FM’s breakfast show with co-host Heidi Anderson.
After a four-year stint on the Perth airwaves, the pair flew back to Melbourne where they picked up their current KIIS FM driveshow gig.
