Popular Balinese shop owner ‘Jimmy Hendrix’ has had enough of starring in tourists’ travel videos as he loses touch with visitors who film him for TikTok while he tries to do his job
A popular Balinese shop owner who went viral for his trivial rants when dealing with customers has had enough and is telling visitors to stop filming unless they are going to buy something.
The owner, nicknamed ‘Jimmy Hendrix’, has had a shop in Kuta selling merchandise since 2009 and recently became popular online after his gimmick of swearing and insulting visitors was well received by Australian travellers.
Jimmy and his shop quickly became a tourist hotspot and many took to TikTok to document their unusual customer service experience.
In a video shared online, the Balinese resident looks defeated as two Australians enter his shop.
Jimmy waves his hands at the two boys and tells them not to film unless they are actually shopping.
“No more cameras unless you shop here,” he warns.
‘No, I have money. I’m going to buy (something),” the tourist is heard saying.
Jimmy then repeats his message: “Make sure you buy.”
After a brief conversation about what products he was selling, the pair began bartering for the price of a shirt that said “Jimmy F****ing Hendrix.”
The cameraman steps in for a closer look, as the store owner angrily gestures him away.
“Stop coming here, you stupid son of a bitch,” Jimmy is heard saying.
However, the store owner had a different tone in a recent video uploaded to TikTok, telling two visitors to stop filming if they weren’t going to buy anything (pictured)
The store owner seems rather unimpressed and offers Locky the shirt for $15.
“That’s all good, brother, keep the change,” the traveler said, handing him a $20 bill.
“I don’t need a bag, I’m going to put the shirt on right away,” he added.
Jimmy then spews another round of x-rated insults before the two shake hands.
“Jimmy Hendrix your (sic) legendary brother (sic) don’t go in there and just record him because the views really take care of him,” the Australian vacationer captioned the video.
Social media users shared their condolences for the local store owner, with many agreeing that Jimmy looked tired.

Many social media users sympathized with Jimmy (pictured, left), noting that he looked “tired” and probably didn’t want to be bothered
“Poor guy just wants to sell shirts and not want to be bothered,” one person wrote.
‘Good guy. But some people only use it for videos and views and don’t buy it off,” another user commented.
“Onya for buying a shirt brother.”
A third wrote: ‘Nahhhh who was mean to Jimmy? Who made him feel this way?’
“Jimmy looks sad that someone has to ask him if he’s okay,” said another.
“I tipped him 100 before he answered he was so grateful but he also explained that he was tired of the phones being pointed in his face and no one coming in and buying things they just want . I asked him if he was okay and he said he still has his days,” one tourist shared.
The video has since been viewed more than 2.3 million times.
