Poolside Karen says SHE was the one who was attacked and is not a racist
The woman who was dubbed ‘Poolside Karen’ after swearing at and insulting a group of Latinos has spoken out for the first time – and insists she’s not a racist.
Blair Featherman told DailyMail.com exclusively that she was goaded into her ill-considered comments by a wannabe model desperate for TikTok views.
And she said she was the one attacked by a group of women, but the video posted carefully avoided showing that.
“I’ve tried to keep quiet and not comment on this, but there are things the video doesn’t show,” said art consultant Featherman, 49.
‘I’m not a racist. It’s deceptively edited and put together to tell a story that isn’t true.”

In the video posted to TikTok by hairdresser Jada Gallardo, Featherman is shown yelling racial slurs at a group of people sitting around the pool at the Alta Green Mountain apartment complex in Lakewood, Colorado, where units are rented for up to $6,500.
She called the group “garbage” and told them to “go back to Denver” before berating them for “not knowing what Hermes is.”
But Featherman, who claims to be an expert in Feng Shui, the Chinese art of furniture, said she was attacked after complaining that the group broke rules about the number of guests a resident of the complex could bring to the pool.
She admits she was wrong to take the bait and get into a fight, but said things had grown to a point of annoyance.
Featherman told DailyMail.com that the group was noisy and there were too many people around the pool who didn’t live at Alta Green Mountain.
That’s when things escalated, she claimed, saying members of the group started yelling racial slurs at her and filming her sitting poolside. “They called me white b***h and white this and white that,” she said.
“I was already having a bad day,” Featherman said. “But this was too much.”
Reaching for the phone, she claimed she had been physically assaulted. A woman clawed at her hair so hard that her artificial nails broke off.

One woman clawed at her hair so hard that her artificial nails broke off, Feartherman said. “I’ve heard people assume it’s pills I’m holding in my hand, but it’s actually her nails I’m showing her,” she said.

The alleged assault is not included in the video that Gallardo, 32, posted to TikTok and Featherman said the video was cut so he follows from a different angle minutes later.
In the chaotic aftermath of the event, she can be seen in the video on a lounge chair, furious and frantic, as her boyfriend calls for help and the excited crowd surrounds her from above. Everyone is seen yelling at each other.
“I couldn’t believe what just happened, my heart was racing and I was so full of adrenaline,” she recalls. “I couldn’t think straight.”
Furious and disoriented, she still had the woman’s fingernails in her possession and decided to open her hand for the group to see.
“I’ve heard people think it’s pills I’m holding in my hand, but it’s actually her nails I’m showing her,” she said.
The video ends with the police being called to the complex, though no one has been arrested.
DailyMail.com reached out to Gallardo for comment, but she did not respond.

At this point, she approaches the woman who is filming before physically addressing her.

‘You can not do that. You can’t just record me,” says Featherman before knocking the phone out of the filmmaker’s hands.
Before that, an added commentary from the app’s voice feature labeling the woman as “racist Karen” can be heard, while an accompanying caption asks social media users to help identify her.
The split footage then jumps to what is believed to be a few minutes later, with Featherman now being restrained by a male member of her own party on one of the lounge chairs by the pool.
While this is happening, she continues to chide the family for their presence.
Several proceed to surround and argue with the woman – as she continues to scream as she attempts to confront the now angry group.
In the midst of the commotion, you can still hear her making xenophobic statements like “Get the f**k out” and “go back down to Denver”
The woman continues to yell and scream for almost the entire duration of the video, which lasts just under a minute.
When asked by one of the victims to leave the pool herself, she learns that she lives in Lakewood – the affluent suburb where the complex is located.
At one point, she is heard to angrily say to the family, who had been having a poolside bash, “I live here, you haven’t come from anywhere, you f****** low-class slime.”
