Stephen Nedoroscik has won another bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics after finishing on the podium in the men’s pommel horse final.
The 25-year-old Massachusetts native scored 15.300 on Saturday to claim his second prize of the summer, behind gold medalist Rhys McClenaghan of Ireland and runner-up Nariman Kurbanov of Kazakhstan.
Britain’s Max Whitlock, the two-time reigning Olympic champion on the apparatus, was knocked off the podium by 0.1 points to finish in fourth place despite having bettered his qualifying score.
Dubbed the ‘Pommel Horse Guy’, Nedoroscik went viral last week after helping the US to a third pace medal finish in the team event. He’s also been compared to Superman’s alter ego, Clark Kent, for his bespectacled and geeky looks.
Responded to Nedorosciak’s second bronze finish on Saturday: ‘Stephen Nedorosciak proves he is the specialist we all admire!’
