‘No suspicious circumstances’ in the death of S Club 7 star Paul Cattermole, 46, after his body was found in his £172k flat
Police have said there are ‘no suspicious circumstances’ surrounding the sudden death of S Club 7 member Paul Cattermole.
The singer’s death at the age of 46 was announced yesterday and the news left his bandmates and ex-girlfriend Hannah Spearritt in ‘shock’.
He was found in his £172,000 home in Dorset on Thursday, but the cause of his death has not yet been revealed.
It comes after years of money problems that plagued the pop star who previously went bankrupt.
Tributes have poured in to the memory of Cattermole, who produced a string of number one hits with S Club 7.

He also claimed two Brit awards, one of which he later auctioned off as he faced money problems, much to the shock of fans.
News of his untimely death came out yesterday, with a statement from his family reading: ‘It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son and brother Paul Cattermole.
“Paul was found yesterday, April 6, 2023, at his home in Dorset and was pronounced dead later that afternoon.”
The singer, who was last pictured on Wednesday, would start a reunion tour with S Club 7 in October.
Previously, he left Loose Women viewers in tears when he discussed his life on the bread line, revealing that he lived on noodles and couldn’t afford a new shirt for his televised appearance at the time.
The singer revealed that he had fallen on hard times and had money problems since he was declared bankrupt in 2015.
Following the sad news of his passing, a video of his 2019 performance looking for love at First Dates Hotel has resurfaced online.
In the clip, Paul sweetly admitted that he would trade his “success” and “fame” in pop band S Club for a chance at “one true love” before going on the date.
Paul, who left S Club four years after they catapulted to fame, said recognition and money weren’t the “route to happiness,” but finding love was.

He said, ‘Would I have traded success and number one for one true love? I think yes, yes.
“Fame is not the way to happiness, money is not the way to happiness, being with someone you love is.”
The singer went on to say that although he had had a series of short relationships, including with S Club co-star Hannah Spearritt, he wanted to find true love.
Spearritt is said to be “inconsolable” after his sudden death.
A source said: ‘Hannah couldn’t even talk about the news – her boyfriend made the calls needed.
‘She is inconsolable. This comes out of nowhere and she’s just numb.”
