  • A 17-year-old was questioned by cyber investigators on Monday
  • However, no charges have been filed against the person

Victoria police have questioned a teenager over the AFL nude scandal after explicit footage of a number of footy stars was leaked.

Cybercrime investigators spoke to a 17-year-old boy on Monday in connection with the scandal dubbed ‘dikileaks’ involving as many as 45 former and current players.

However, at this stage there is not enough evidence to press charges.

Last month, the footy world was rocked after news broke of the leak, which allegedly included five Brownlow medalists in the file, which was widely shared on social media.

A former player embroiled in the scandal told News Corp that it was “a gross invasion of privacy.”

The AFL worked with the eSafety Commissioner and Google engineers to remove the Google Drive document and images.

Brownlow medalist Jimmy Bartel was one of the leading names to plug the leak, labeling the person behind it as “disgusting.”

“It’s filthy — most of the images are fake, fabricated, staged,” Bartel said at the time.

‘He’s a grubby person who hopefully gets caught.

“This is now a criminal case.”

In a statement, Victoria Police confirmed on Thursday that detectives had spoken to a teenager about “a number of explicit images of AFL players being circulated online.”

“The 17-year-old was approached by police on July 31, but at this time there is insufficient evidence to support any charges.”
