Female cop accused of performing Nazi salute TWICE suspended on pay

A police sergeant who allegedly gave the Nazi salute has been suspended.

The development cooperation commander was suspended on Friday evening after accusations that she had given the Nazi salute twice this week.

Both alleged occasions took place on Tuesday and Wednesday in front of colleagues from the Victoria Police Academy, while the officer was on duty.

The Professional Standards Command is investigating the incidents.

The civil servant has been suspended for pay.

A statement from a Victoria Police spokesperson said “it would not be appropriate to comment further at this time” as the “case is ongoing”.

The alleged incidents follow the ban on Nazi salutes, symbols and gestures in Victoria in October 2023.

The first person was found guilty of performing the forbidden gesture this week.
