Police launch murder probe after man was killed in knife fight in Melbourne
Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was killed and two others injured in a knife fight in Melbourne on Friday evening.
The fight happened just after 7pm on Friday on McBurnie Drive, Kurunjang, in Melbourne’s northwest.
Emergency services arrived on the scene after a fight was reported between a group of people.
Officers found three injured men at the scene, but despite the efforts of paramedics, one victim was pronounced dead.
The two others were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A crime scene has been cordoned off and officers are investigating what may have caused the incident.
“At this early stage of the investigation it is believed that the parties involved in the altercation knew each other,” Victoria Police said in a statement.
No one has been arrested.

The street is expected to be closed until Saturday morning.
