Police have swarmed on man who was the passenger in a truck that smashed into a railway overpass after the driver took a wrong turn.
Dramatic footage in Brisbane’s CBD on Thursday shows several officers in hi-vis vests wrestling the man to the ground and placing him in a headlock.
Police allege that after the truck carrying cars collided with the concrete structure crushing the vehicles, the 37-year-old became agitated, refused to obey instructions and shoved an officer.
He has been charged with assault and obstructing police.

As the struggle intensified on the road, officers can be heard imploring him to ‘stop resisting’.
‘You’re under arrest for obstructing police,’ an officer says in the video, which was obtained by 9News.
The officer then tells him: ‘Get your arms behind you back now.’
Another orders the truck passenger to ‘do as your told’ before swearing.
Two of the officers are seen holding the man to the ground while one tries to put handcuffs on him.
A woman rushes to the passenger’s side during the commotion and asks police to ‘please help him!’.

‘Get in the car now!’ one officer is heard saying as he points the woman in the other direction.
Another urges her to ‘step back’.
The three officers continue to hold the passenger down as he is heard whimpering.
‘Alright calm down, listen to me,’ one officer is heard saying as he sits on top of the man. ‘You’re under arrest for obstructing police.’
‘If you calm down we will sit you up. Do you understand?’
Police managed to cuff the man after struggling with him for more than two minutes.

The driver of the wrecked truck was much calmer than the passenger but was in shock over the crash.
He told authorities he had taken a wrong turn onto the highway while following his GPS before he slammed into the overpass.
The truck was eventually freed from the bridge after two hours.
Cars on the truck were completely crushed and carried away on smaller tow trucks.
