Police are praised for surprising act after being called to a rowdy house party
Aussies have praised police officers who showed up to a house party following a noise complaint but decided to stay and join in the lively festivities.
In a video posted from the party, a male officer was seen trying traditional Colombian soup, made from tripe and seasonal vegetables, at the party in Sydney.
‘Australian police officers were called by neighbors to a Colombian party in Sydney. “When the police arrived, they realized the Colombians had ‘sopa de mondongo’ and didn’t hesitate to try,” the TikTok video’s caption read.
Aussies were quick to praise officers for their relaxed approach to police work.
“The importance of community connection is the basis for respect,” one person said.
“Those are the best officers you can have on the force,” wrote a second.
‘It’s all about being with people.’
“The neighbors would be so annoyed and I think it’s great that the police are getting into the community and getting to know them before they actually do anything,” said a third.
Police officers initially arrived for a house complaint before becoming involved in festivities
One Australian recalled police arriving at their party years ago to check noise levels.
“When they arrived, more than 50 people were singing Bohemian Rhapsody at the top of their lungs and the police joined in with Anyway the Wind Blows,” they said.
“They then asked us to turn it down and we did because of their amazing singing.”
Some couldn’t believe Sydneysiders were so picky when it came to loud parties.
‘I never pass on the neighbours’ parties. Everyone should be able to have fun,” one person said.
‘Real? Neighbors complained about that? Whatever happened to enjoying people enjoying themselves,” a second agreed.
