Police have closed the investigation into the death of S Club 7’s Paul Cattermole, MailOnline can reveal.

The founder of the 1990s pop group was found dead at his home in Dorset on April 6 at the age of 46.

Yesterday, a spokeswoman for Dorset’s Coroner’s Office said: ‘We confirm that Mr Cattermole has died of natural causes and our investigation has been completed. Since his death was a natural death, there will be no inquest.’

Dorset Police, who yesterday said the investigation was ‘ongoing’, have now confirmed the investigation is closed.

A spokesman for the police told MailOnline: ‘No further police assistance is required and our investigation is complete.’

Mr. Cattermole’s death came as the band was reforming for a 25th anniversary reunion tour, which fellow member Hannah Spearritt recently confirmed she would not be joining right now.

The band has since been renamed S Club.

Following Mr Cattermole’s death, the band posted on Twitter: ‘We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul.

“There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel. We were so lucky to have him in our lives and are thankful for the great memories we have.

“He will be so greatly missed by all of us.”
