A wild police chase has caused chaos in the streets of Brisbane after a stolen Mercedes-Benz swept through the city.

Helicopter footage shows the white luxury car flying over a highway and residential roads before fleeing into the parking lot of Redbank Plaza shopping center southwest of Brisbane on Tuesday.

The Mercedes was seen driving past trucks and other vehicles, cutting in front of other cars and overtaking illegally, and turning onto the wrong side of the road.

At one point, the car was seen driving on a sidewalk.

Queensland Police have confirmed that two male youths have been detained after the car was intercepted in the shopping center around 11:45 am.

Obviously, the police have been tracking the stolen car for two days, while those in the car livestream their antics.

A police vehicle was damaged in an attempt to stop the Mercedes-Benz earlier on Tuesday morning.

“The vehicle has been linked to several property crimes around the Brisbane and Ipswich areas since it was stolen from an address in Dinmore on September 18,” a police spokesman said.

No one was injured and the police investigation continues.

It is feared that more young people who were in the car are still on the run.
