Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Typhlosion 7-star Tera Raid guide

Typhlosiathe fire-type Pokémon of Johto, makes his Pokémon Scarlet And purple debut in seven-star Tera Raids. It has a ghost Tera typeinspired by his Hisuian form.

Typhlosion with the ghost Tera Type and Mightiest Mark is only in raids from April 13 at 8pm EDT to April 16 at 7:59pm EDT And April 20 at 8pm EDT to April 23 at 7:59pm EDT.

Typhlosion Tera Raid Rewards

If you defeat Typhlosion, you can catch one, but only one. After you catch your first one, you can’t catch another one, even if you defeat it again in another attack. You also get TM114 (Shadow Ball) and guaranteed Skill patch for your first win.

The caught Typhlosion has its Hidden Ability, Flash Fire, which allows fire-type attacks to do no damage to it and instead amplify its own fire-type attacks. It also comes with the Mightiest Mark, just like the Pokémon from previous seven-star raids. It also has complete perfect IVs.

As with other Tera Raids, you can get other drops such as Exp. Candy, Tera shards, bottle caps and treasure items to sell for cash. Serebii.net has a complete drop table. Typhlosion raids do not drop Herba Mystica.

Typhlosion Tera Raid best counters

Typhlosion is at level 100 with a ghost Tera Type. It knows Eruption, Shadow Ball, Play Rough and Earthquake, as well as Sunny Day. These moves make it a mixed physical and special striker. It starts the fight with an attack, then uses Sunny Day and resets your stat changes.

Remember that your Pokémon must be level 100 when you take them to Seven Star Attacks. You may be able to get away with not training them perfectly EV or IV, but it is recommended to do this for easier knockouts.

There are several builds that let you take down Typhlosion easily, but below we’ve listed the builds we’ve personally partied with or disabled the raid with.

Typhlosion Annihilape solo Tera Raid built

  • Nature: Rigid
  • Skill: Provocative
  • Tera Type: Ghost or fight
  • EVs: 252 HP/252 Attack/4 Special Defense
  • IVs: Max HP, Attack, Defense, Special Defense
  • Held item: Shell bell
  • Move set: Scream, Anger Fist

As with the Samurott attack, you can play Typhlosion solo with a screeching Annihilape and a bit of luck. Take the first two turns to Screech before Typhlosion puts on his shield, then spam Rage Fist until he passes out. You’re also bound to pass out even with Shell Bell recovery, but don’t give up!

Typhlosion’s Shadow Ball has a chance to lower the target’s special defense, so Defiant, Annihilape’s Hidden Ability – which increases Annihilape’s attack by two stages when one of its stats is lowered – is the best option for boosting your damage output . Ghost Tera Type will increase Rage Fist’s damage, but fighting Tera Type is a good option to get rid of your Shadow Ball weakness (although you still have that annoying weakness to play Rough). Your Annihilape is likely to be the fighting Tera type unless you caught it during a raid, so start there before spending Tera Shards to change it.

Typhlosion Farigiraf special attacker Tera Raid built

  • Nature: Modest or calm
  • Skill: Cu chew
  • Tera type: Normal
  • EVs: 4 HP/252 special attack/252 defense
  • IVs: Max HP, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense
  • Held item: Leftovers
  • Move set: Skill Swap (TM98), Nasty Plot, Shadow Ball (TM114), Light Screen (TM75)

Farigiraf makes a great anchor in the Typhlosion attack; with its solid defense and equally solid special attack, you’re able to tank plenty of hits from Typhlosion and deal decent damage in return.

First, set up Light Screen to help your teammates against Typhlosion’s special attacks, which it seems to prefer (in our experience).

Then use Skill Swap to get Typhlosion’s Flash Fire Ability on Farigiraf, making it immune to Eruption. Farigiraf’s normal typing also makes it immune to Typhlosion’s Shadow Ball, meaning you only deal with Typhlosion’s physical attacks (except for the turns where Typhlosion nullifies Abilities).

Once Typhlosion has reset the stats on your side of the field, use Nasty Plot twice to boost Farigiraf’s special move and start using Shadow Ball – you’ll probably get some special defense drops on Typhlosion, which is a nice bonus . Once you can Terastallize, the normal Tera type will still give you immunity to Typhlosion’s Shadow Ball.

Typhlosion Dachsbun supports Tera Raid build

  • Nature: In bold
  • Skill: Well fried body
  • Tera type: Normal or fairy tale
  • EVs: 252 HP/4 Attack/252 Special Defense
  • IVs: Max HP, Defense, Special Defense
  • Held item: Leftovers
  • Move set: Snarl (TM30), Helping Hand (TM130), Rain Dance (TM50), Crunch

Dachsbun works similarly to Farigiraf in that its ability gives it immunity to Eruption – and in this case Dachsbun’s defenses are boosted when hit by Eruption. Maximize his special defense EVs to increase his chances of surviving Shadow Ball, and if you have a chance on Tera, normal Tera Type is the way to go to give yourself full immunity to it. However, if you don’t have the Tera Shards or don’t want to invest them here, fairy Tera Type is fine.

Start using Snarl for the first two turns. Once Typhlosion has used Sunny Day, use Rain Dance to replace the sun and help protect your allies from Eruption. Then alternate between Snarl, healing cheers, and using Helping Hand on stronger teammates. You can optionally give Dachsbun a max attack IV and Crunch to deal chip damage (plus Crunch has a chance to lower the target’s defenses, which is always nice), but your main role is support, so you probably don’t have that necessary.
