Poh Ling Yeow reveals sweet details about Cal Wilson as heartbroken MasterChef Australia star shares heartwarming tribute to comedian
Poh Ling Yeow shared a touching tribute to the recently deceased Cal Wilson on Tuesday.
The celebrity chef, 49, posted a series of pictures on her Instagram account with a lengthy caption detailing how she felt about the comedian’s death at the age of 53.
The images included a sketch Poh drew of her friend, their time in Poh’s hometown of Adelaide and their experiences together on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!
Underneath, Poh wrote that cat videos, dinners with a comedian and eating turkey testicles in the jungle will be “forever worth it” and “a dozen more ‘just one more stories’ before we crawl bleary-eyed into our beds.”
She continued: “Every time I shake with grief for you, I imagine your spirit hands holding me because that’s exactly what you would have done. I feel so lucky to have had you in my life – it’s only been 3 years, but now I treasure the lack of those glowing dimples forever.’

Poh ended her tribute with another very personal memory of her friendship with the comedian.
“Wherever you are my friend, I hope it’s really like Spotlight, except the vendors are talking about cats wearing jumbled uniforms,” she wrote.
Wilson was suffering from a rare and aggressive form of cancer when she died at the age of 53, Daily Mail Australia has learned.

She was surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday when she passed away at Sydney’s Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
The comedian, who lived in Melbourne, was in Sydney filming The Great Australian Bake Off when she was admitted to hospital.
It is understood that Wilson has been battling cancer in secret and has only revealed details of her illness to close family and friends.
She continued: “Every time I shake with grief for you, I imagine your spirit hands holding me because that’s exactly what you would have done. I feel so lucky to have had you in my life – it’s only been 3 years but now I have a forever worth of missing those glowing dimples.

She had been in hospital for two weeks before her death, and entertainment reporter Peter Ford suggested the cancer was linked to her lungs.
In the hours after her death was announced, Great Australian Bake Off judge Darren Purchase said the comedian looked ‘very ill’ when he last saw her.
“I’m sorry this happened to such a good person and I can’t get it out of my head when I last saw her when she was very sick,” he wrote.

“I wish I could hug her and tell her how much she means to me and to so many people.”
Just five days ago, Wilson, who is survived by her husband Chris Woods and her son, Digby, appeared in promotional pictures for Melbourne Fringe Festival band The 50 Year Show.
In a stirring interview on the Bakeology podcast just months before her death, her close friend Adam Miller asked Wilson what Digby would remember her for.

The moment suggested her friends were aware of her battle with cancer, although she kept it out of the public eye.
‘What do you think Digby will remember you for?’ Miller asked.
“I think it’ll be for pancakes since that’s a pretty regular weekend thing,” Cal replied.
Call said she hoped her son Digby (pictured together) would remember their pancake weekends together during a touching interview in August
