Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Surat in Gujarat and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday.

The Prime Minister will inaugurate the new integrated terminal building at Surat Airport at around 10.45 am on Sunday. Following this, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Surat Diamond Bourse around 11.15 am, said a press release from the Prime Minister's Office.

Prime Minister Modi will then travel to Varanasi where he will participate in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra around 3:30 PM. He will inaugurate Kashi Tamil Sangamam 2023 at Namo Ghat around 5.15 pm.

The terminal building is equipped to handle 1,200 domestic passengers and 600 international passengers during peak hours and has facilities to further increase capacity to 3,000 passengers during peak hours, increasing annual handling capacity to 5.5 million passengers, the press release said.

The terminal building, as it is the gateway to the city of Surat, has been designed keeping local culture and heritage in mind, ensuring its essence reflects both indoors and outdoors, creating a sense of place for the visitors.

The airport's new terminal building, which complies with GRIHA IV, is equipped with several sustainability features, such as a double insulated roof system, canopies for energy savings, double glazing with low heat gain, rainwater collection, water treatment plant, sewage treatment plant, the use of recycled water for under more landscaping and solar power plants.

Prime Minister Modi will also inaugurate the Surat Diamond Bourse. It will be the largest and most modern center in the world for international diamond and jewelry companies. It will become a global center for the trade in rough and polished diamonds and jewelry.

Bourse will include a state-of-the-art 'Customs Clearance House' for import-export; a jewelry center for jewelry stores; and an international banking facility and secure vaults, the release said.

In Varanasi, the Prime Minister will participate in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra on the grounds of Cutting Memorial School in Varanasi. There, the Prime Minister will interact with the beneficiaries of various government schemes such as Prime Minister Awas, Prime Minister SWANidhi and Prime Minister Ujjwala, among others.

In line with his vision of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, the Prime Minister will inaugurate Kashi Tamil Sangamam 2023 at Namo Ghat. On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi will also flag off the Kanyakumari-Varanasi Tamil Sangamam train, the release said.

On Monday, around 10.45 am, the Prime Minister will visit Swarved Mahamandir, followed by its inauguration in a public venue at around 11.30 am.

Prime Minister Modi will participate in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra around 1 pm. Thereafter, the Prime Minister, in a public function, at around 2.15 pm, will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth over Rs 19,150 crores.
