PlayStation’s new State of Play showcase is coming on January 31st

Sony Interactive Entertainment will air a new State of Play presentation on Wednesday, January 31, the company said in an announcement on its website PlayStation Blog. The showcase will focus on updates to games coming to PlayStation platforms in 2024 “and beyond,” including PlayStation 5 and PlayStation VR 2.

January’s State of Play kicks off at 5:00 PM EST/2:00 PM PST and can be streamed live via PlayStation YouTube, Nervous twitchAnd TikTok channels. The show is expected to last 40 minutes and cover more than 15 matches.

Viewers can expect “extended looks” at Shift Up’s Stellar blade (formerly known as Project Eva) and Team Ninjas Rise of the Roninsays PlayStation Studios head Hermen Hulst.

Other 2024 games that could be released include those from Square Enix Final Fantasy 7 RebirthBloober team Silent Hill 2 remake, and Konami’s Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. Sony may also offer updates on games revealed at last year’s PlayStation Showcase that are further out of the market, including Haven Studios’ Fairgame$Bungies Marathonand Firewalk Studios’ Agreement.

Early reports of Sony’s plans indicate that PlayStation fans may also see a remastered version from Supermassive Games. Until dawn – which Sony is adapting into a live-action horror film – and that of Kojima Productions Death stranding 2.
