PlayStation Portal sales continue to go well as it’s reportedly set to become the best-selling PS5 accessory in 2024
The PlayStation Portal is reportedly the best-selling accessory in the US for 2024.
The latest from Mat Piscatella, executive director and video game industry advisor at Aboutthrough PlayStation lifestylewho reports that the official remote player for the PlayStation 5 is still selling well in the US market eight months after its release.
In fact, things are going so well that according to Circana, the PlayStation Portal was the best-selling accessory in dollar sales in both May and 2024 so far.
The continued success of the PlayStation Portal follows earlier statements from Sony, which previously indicated that sales of its handheld were exceeding its own expectations.
Earlier this year, PlayStation VP of product management Hiromi Wakai said, Game file that the PS Portal is a niche product, intended for people with specific needs.

“PlayStation Portal was conceived from the beginning as a product that best suited people with specific needs and who wanted to play in a specific way, and the response after the announcement was completely in line with our expectations,” Wakai said at the time.
Wakai added that the popularity of the Portal helps Sony to “ship more and more units” and that “we will continue to bring more units to the market.”
The PlayStation Portal launched in November 2023 and was Sold out quickly in both the US and UK within two daysAlthough the console does not support cloud gaming, its price is more affordable compared to other handheld devices on the current market.
