The free Essential games for PlayStation Plus subscribers for the month of February are available Foam stars, RollerdromeAnd Steel rise, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced this on Wednesday. Players can download the trio of PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 games starting Tuesday, February 6.
Foam stars is a multiplayer shooter that draws comparisons to Nintendo’s Splatoon games, but instead of ink-squirting squid kids, Square Enix’s game features stylish athletes who spray each other with foam. That soapy substance can be used to build terrain for defensive purposes, creating slippery surfaces and incapacitating your opponents. Foam stars is a non-violent shooter with modes such as Happy Bath Survival and Rubber Duck Party. It will be available for PS4 and PS5.
Rollerdromeby OlliOlli World developer Roll7, is a thrilling roller skate shooter set in a retro-futuristic fascist police state. Players compete in a brutal yet graceful blood sport full of roller skating tricks and gunfights. As noted in Polygon’s review: “It’s truly beautiful to see main character Kara Hassan take huge air out of a halfpipe, grab the nose, then pull out a pump-action rifle and knock a sniper out of place, all in one fluid motion. ” Rollerdrome will be available for PS4 and PS5.
Steel rise is developer Spiders’ action RPG set in alternate history Paris and a twist on the French Revolution with an evil robot army. As automaton Aegis, players battle the machines of Louis XVI in fluid third-person combat. Steel rise will be available for PS5.
February’s PS Plus Essential games can be downloaded through March. 4.
PlayStation Plus subscribers will also get a few extra perks in February, including a limited two-hour trial Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and a lot of skins for it Fall guysallowing players to dress up their bean as Horizon’s Aloy, and Ratchet and Clank from… Ratchet & Clank.
Subscribers can still pick up January’s PlayStation Plus Essential games – A plague story: Requiem, Evil WestAnd No one saves the world — until February 5.
PlayStation Plus Essential is the lowest tier available in Sony Interactive Entertainment’s subscription service. It offers online multiplayer access, a monthly range of free PS4 and PS5 games, cloud storage and discounts on PlayStation Store purchases. PlayStation Plus Essential costs $79.99 per year, $24.99 for a three-month subscription, or $9.99 per month – a price that went up last August.
