PlayStation Plus Extra gets into the spooky spirit with Dead Island and Outlast 2 this month

Sony has officially confirmed which games will be added to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium this month. Extra-tier subscribers can delve into a number of games that fit well with Halloween.

Kicking things off is Gotham Knights, Warner Bros. Games’ not-quite-Batman action RPG from 2022. Players can take on the roles of Robin, Batgirl, Red Hood and Nightwing, alone or with friends in online co-op. It may not be a horror game, but bats (or lack thereof, I guess) can be pretty creepy.

On the more traditionally Halloween-esque side of things, yes The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes. This survival horror game is the third game in The Dark Pictures Anthology series – the first two, Man from Medan And A little hopeare already available to play the PS Plus Extra catalogue.

Dead Island definitive edition is also added for everyone’s zombie splatting needs, as well as the psychological horror of Survive 2 – assuming you need more nightmare fuel. Adding to the scary theme is the sci-fi horror Alien: isolation in which you must avoid a stealthy xenomorph while trying to survive an abandoned space station.

If you’re not a fan of losing sleep or destroying zombies, fear not, as there are plenty more not-so-horrifying options joining the subscription service. A big highlight Disco Elysium – The latest version. One of the best story games ever made, this gritty isometric RPG puts players in the shoes of an amnesiac detective tasked with solving a murder case.

Otherwise, subscribers can look forward to playing the adventure puzzle game Far: changing tidesthe space flight simulator Elite dangerousaction shooter Gungrav GOREtroublesome souls Eldest soulsand adventure game Roki.

Finally, anyone subscribed to PlayStation Plus’ most expensive tier, Premium, can play four additional older titles: Tekken 6, Ape Escape Academy, IQ Finale, And Soulcalibur: Broken Fate.

All of these games will be available to play via the subscription service starting next Tuesday, October 17.
