PLAYER RATINGS – Conor Gallagher and Nicolas Jackson struggle as Chelsea are held by Burnley – but Cole Palmer shines despite the chaos

Chelsea trailed 2-2 against Burnley at Stamford Bridge, a result that will frustrate both sides who had chances to claim all three points.

Cole Palmer shone through the chaos to score twice, including a cool Panenka finish to give the Blues a one-goal lead at half-time after Burnley’s Lorenz Assignon brought down Mykhailo Mudryk in the box.

Assignon was shown a second yellow card after the challenge and Clarets boss Vincent Kompany also saw his marching orders during the subsequent VAR check.

Josh Cullen’s first goal equalized for Burnley, before Palmer’s second in the 78th minute briefly gave Chelsea the lead again, before Dara O’Shea’s crucial header equalized three minutes later.

The Clarets also hit the crossbar late on with another header, but the hosts held on for a point. HEre’s MailSport’s match ratings from Chelsea 2-2 Burnley:
