Newcastle continued their late push for European football after a 1-0 win over Fulham.
Bruno Guimaraes crashed home an excellent winner for Eddie Howe’s side at Craven Cottage after latching onto a loose ball on the edge of the penalty area.
A few minutes before the breakthrough, the visitors had seen a goal disallowed, with Fabian Schar’s effort disallowed in the build-up due to a foul by Dan Burn.
The win puts the Magpies in eighth place, just one point behind seventh.

Bernd Leno 6
A solid performance, but helpless to keep out Guimaraes’ torrid effort.
Timothy Castagne 6
The full-back put in a lively performance before Newcastle applied late pressure.

Another confident performance from a defender who will certainly be watched by big clubs this summer. He stepped out of the back pit and gathered the people around him.
Calvin Bassey 6.5
An improved performance at the heart of Marco Silva’s backline.
Antonee Robinson 7
Flashes of good linkage played on the left and linked up well with Willian.
Joao Palhinha 7 (Armando Broja 85)
In his typical combative manner, he cleared away everything that came near him.
Tom Cairney 6.5 (Sasa Lukic 64)
A steady enough performance, but he couldn’t grab the game by the scruff of the neck.
Willian 7.5 (Harry Wilson 64)
Fantastic. A constant danger and excited with tricks and flicks. Found with a lot of patience.
Andreas Pereira 6.5 (Adama Traore 64)
Newcastle troubled in the hole before being replaced shortly after the hour mark.

A good display, albeit without the magic Fulham needed.

His goal was disallowed through no fault of his own. An impressive performance, apart from being beaten a few times in the first half.
Lewis Hall 6 (Paul Dummett 90+5)
Stable enough during a rare start, but had to leave late with obvious cramp.
Sean Longstaff 6.5
Helped Newcastle in the center of the field, but lacked composure.
Bruno Guimaraes 7
Together with the memorable winner, an addition to a successful, stylish presentation.
