David DeGea 6
There wasn’t much going on, until he knocked a Grealish header out of the net, but his handling was good when called upon.
Aaron Wan Bissaka 6
The full-back kept Foden quiet but considered Grealish a more difficult proposition. He lived dangerously at times with a few tackles.
Rafael Varane 7
He made some important clearance headers as City turned up the pressure and did a good job of keeping Haaland goalless.
Raphael Varane was crucial in the win as he managed to keep ManCity’s Erling Haaland quiet.
luke shaw 6
Surprising choice to start at center half and his lack of height was exposed at times when City pressed after the restart.
Tyrell Malaysia 6
Spirited performance, at both ends of the field, from the young full-back who had to contend with De Bruyne and Mahrez on his side.
Casemiro 7
He played a key role in denying Haaland serve and stifling City’s creative midfielders for nearly 20 minutes early in the second half.
Casemiro played a key role in denying Haaland’s serve and suffocating City’s midfielders
Fred 7
Called in to give an extra touch in midfield and he enjoyed the derby atmosphere and his battle with De Bruyne in particular, although the Belgian still set up the opener.
Bruno Fernandez 9
He fired an early shot just outside the City goal and a couple of long passes nearly set up the opener. He scored one and had a hand in the second.

He was lucky to escape a poor decision to run out of his box in the first half, when Rashford could have scored, but made up for it with a fine save from the same United man.
kyle walker 5
He struggled to fitness and fitness recently but delivered the second league start in three months and was targeted by United. He fought Rashford and then Garnacho.
Manuel Akanji 5
In the right place to clear a Rashford shot off the line, but he didn’t cover himself in glory as United scored twice in four minutes.
Nathan Ake 5
The goals underscored a poor performance from City’s back four with Ake struggling with the pace and mobility of United’s forwards.

An important early interception denied Rashford, but he wasn’t his usual attacking threat.
kevin debruyne 7
They kept going, despite some good defensive work from Fred, and were rewarded when they momentarily found space to set up the Grealish goal.
Rodrigo 6
Overworked and overrunning City’s base midfield at times, especially in the period when United scored. He tried, but failed, to feed the creative players around him.
bernardo silva 6
A serious mistake gave United their first chance, but they became more dangerous and better on the ball as the game progressed. I tried enough but too often with no end result.
Riad Mahrez 5
Another City striker who remained silent. He had a hand playing De Bruyne to set up the opener but apart from that good 15-minute spell he was cool.
Erling Haland 6
He dropped deep to try and get more involved in the game, but was largely kept quiet by the home defense. A good defensive job too.
Phil Foden 5
Caught offside twice and guilty of giving the ball away on the cheap. He missed a difficult chance with a header and was substituted before the hour.
