Scotland’s Euro 2024 qualifier against Georgia was abandoned after just nine minutes due to a soggy pitch at Hampden Park.
Heavy rain fell in the 90 minutes before kick-off.
It was clear from the start of the game that the conditions were ridiculous, with the ball not traveling with the players.
Simple passes got stuck, water splashed up with every step and a well-shot shot from the visitors almost stopped in the goal mouth, although it went wide.
Callum McGregor put Scotland ahead after John McGinn’s corner kick bounced back to the midfielder in the sixth minute, before the referee went to talk to an official on the touchline.

Scotland boss Steve Clarke and Georgia manager Willy Sagnol had previously called for the match to be stopped.
It was soon announced that there would be a re-evaluation of the pitch in 20 minutes.
Then the rain stopped. However, it was confirmed that play will resume at 9:30pm – an hour and 21 minutes after the initial stoppage.
Georgia returned to the field to loud cheers, Scotland went off and on again and the game finally resumed at 9.33pm with the visitors taking the center after McGregor’s goal.
