Plastic surgeon reveals the subtle $20,000 procedure celebrities are getting to transform their entire face

Many celebrities have undergone the subtle procedure as it only requires a few weeks of recovery time, allowing them to return to red carpets and premieres.
Blepharoplasty is also more of an adjustment, so it won’t leave an A-lister’s fans wondering exactly what they did to change their face overnight.
To find out why eyelid surgery has become the go-to procedure for so many celebrities, FEMAIL spoke to a New York City-based board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Darrick Antell.

“The procedure left me looking refreshed and taking years off,” said Dr. Antell to DailyMail.com.
Since then, he has performed eyelid surgery numerous times, which he described as a “mini facelift.”
“Blepharoplasty removes excess skin from the eyelids,” Dr. advised. Antell.
‘As we age, the eyelids stretch and the muscles that support them become weaker.
‘As a result, excess skin and fat can build up above and below the eyelids.’
Dr. Antell explained that a blepharoplasty, or upper blepharoplasty, “removes excess skin and raises drooping or drooping eyelids” while making fine incisions, while a lower blepharoplasty “removes eye bags and tightens loose skin” without stitches or visible incisions.
Both are usually done at the same time, with three charges.
It costs $15,000 to pay the surgeon for both the upper and lower eyelids, or $8,000 for just one eyelid, $3,500 for the operating room, and about $1,000 for the anesthesiologist, making the total about $19,500.

The recovery period is only 72 hours, with some swelling or bruising around the eyes.

Dr. Antell also thinks it is possible Jane Fonda, Renee Zellweger and Tom Cruise have had eye lifts, which many other doctors also believe.
The 55-year-old Bridget Jones star has firmly denied the plastic surgery rumours, calling them ‘silly’, despite many doctors who haven’t treated her saying it looks like she’s had an eye lift.
Jane, 86, has been open about having plastic surgery and spoke to Vogue about regretting a facelift.

While an eye lift can temporarily prevent a facelift, there are other adjustments that can help many stars fight aging at the same time.

The plastic surgeon said eyelid surgery can also be combined with canthoplasty, also known as cat-eye lift surgery, and is also a hit with celebrities.
Canthoplasty tightens the muscles, ligaments and tissues in the corner of the eye.
