Plastic surgeon explains Kristen Wiig’s age-defying facial transformation at 50
A plastic surgeon has revealed what cosmetic procedures he believes Kristen Wiig underwent to achieve her age-defying transformation.
The 50-year-old Bridesmaids actress turned heads with her glamorous appearance on Saturday Night Live and at the premiere of Despicable Me 4 earlier this year.
According to UK-based Dr Jonny Betteridge, her transformation, which he called “not possible naturally”, was the result of a facelift.
He also claimed that she had Botox to soften the lines on her forehead, surgery to reduce the skin above her eyes, and fillers in her lips to give them more volume, all of which contributed to her new look.

It’s not the first time the mother of two has faced surgery speculation. Last year, comments circulated online that she had undergone a “nose job.”
Dr Betteridge told a TikTok page that has been viewed nearly 100,000 times: ‘If we look at her from a few years ago, we see some of the classic signs of ageing: frown lines and forehead lines, drooping upper eyelids, bags under the eyes and sagging skin on the lower face.’
“There is absolutely no way that she would look the same a few years later as she does now, without surgical and non-surgical treatments.”
He continued: ‘I see some characteristic changes in her facial features.
‘The frown lines and forehead wrinkles have been softened by the Botox, her eyes appear more open due to the eyelid correction, her nose is tighter due to the nose correction and her lips have more shape and volume due to the filler.’
He compared a 2013 photo of the star, in which she appeared at the American Film Institute Festival in Hollywood, with a 2024 photo of her on SNL.
In TikTok, Dr. Betteridge said she likely had a facelift, too. He pointed to this 2016 image to show a scar near her ear, which is normally where you get a facelift
He also revealed a photo of Kristen at the 22nd Annual Screen Guild Actors Awards in 2016, which he said showed she had a facelift scar on the side of her face.
She was about 42 years old at the time. According to surgeons, some people still have a facelift in their 40s to get a better and longer lasting result.
Kristen has not previously responded to allegations that she has undergone plastic surgery.
But in a interview in 2016 While promoting Zoolander 2, in which she plays a character who goes too far with plastic surgery, she made rare comments on the subject.
“It’s a balance… you know,” she said, “some people are older and they do little things, if you want to do that, do it.”
“But I’ve seen younger kids do it. I think it makes them look older.”
There was also speculation about her appearance after her arrival at the Golden Globes in January of this year.
Several commentators online have said they believe she had a rhinoplasty to reduce the size of her nose.
