An airline passenger has reignited the debate over plane etiquette after she voiced her displeasure at people bending over to take photos out of the window.
Fanny Gagnon O’Donnell, originally from Montreal but currently working in Germany as an au pair, took a three hour flight back from a trip to Spain when her patience was tested by her neighbor.
In a clip uploaded Unpleasant TikTok – which has now been viewed more than three million times – the Canadian secretly films the man next to her, who keeps reaching over the window with his phone to take pictures.
In the overlapping captions she explains that she was ‘confused at first’ but assumed it would be a ‘one-time thing’ and she ‘let him do his thing.’
But the photo opportunities continue and Fanny remarks: ‘There he is again’, as he puts his arm fully outstretched in front of her so that he can take his best photos from the plane.

She concludes in the fragment: ‘Luckily it was only a three-hour flight.’
Fanny’s video quickly received hundreds of comments, with the vast majority of viewers supporting her.
Some commentators said they closed the blinds on the window to give the man a hint.
Other viewers said they would have been more direct and said something to him or “slapped his hand away.”
One TikTok creator wrote in the comments: ‘I would tell him if he wanted unlimited window access he should have gotten a window seat. Personal space is not optional.’
Some commentators told similar scenarios.
However, one person indicated that his neighbor was more tactful in his approach.
She explains: ‘This happened to me once, but it was a very sweet old man who asked permission every time he wanted to take a picture.’

Another said he ended up taking photos for his neighbor, who “wanted to take photos without him being in my space.”
Fanny says at the beginning of her TikTok that she initially loved sitting by the window, and even sent a selfie to her mother of herself sitting in the best spot.
However, her mood began to deteriorate when the man in the middle seat started taking up her space.
Fanny told Newsweek that she looked at him meaningfully after the man took a few photos, but that he didn’t get the message.
She recounted the events that transpired from that point on: ‘I closed the window to signal that it was over, but after that he seemed confused.
‘A few minutes later he tapped me on the shoulder to tell me to open the window again. I felt bad, so I did.’
