A plane passenger has sparked outrage after revealing how he cooked prawns and mashed potatoes in a plane bathroom sink – after taking two six-volt batteries into the craft to power his bizarre experiment.

The US-based content creator, who goes by the username Barfly, has taken TikTok by storm in recent weeks with shocking clips of his impromptu meal preparation.

He recently left viewers stunned after using two six-volt batteries on board a Delta plane to prepare the meal in the communal toilet.

In the clip, which has been viewed more than 705,000 times to date, Barfly, who has never revealed his real name, documented his journey as he headed to the airport.

From his car he said, “Well, I have a terrible idea. It's a terrible idea. I am a bit nervous.

“The stuff I packed definitely looks like a bomb.”

The social media star then films himself walking through security before finally making his way to his seat.

He takes a sick bag from the bag in front of him and walks to the bathroom on board with his shrimp, potato powder and batteries.

Barfly secures the plug in the sink before adding a few inches of water and setting the battery wiring configuration.

The electric current causes the water to quickly reach a 'scalding' level when he throws a handful of shrimp into it.

He sprinkles with herbs before scooping out a piece of garlic paste with his fingers and tossing it into the mix.

Once cooked, the unconventional chef removes the shrimp and places them on a stack of paper towels.

Barfly turns his attention to preparing the mashed potatoes, sprinkling the mixture into the existing water, adding more garlic paste and mixing aggressively with his hands.

Then, after the preparation is done, the two ingredients are thrown into the sick bag before he returns to his seat to enjoy his meal.

The content creator uses only his hands, but nevertheless declares the experiment a success.

In the caption he explained: 'With two six-volt batteries connected in series to a beverage warmer, you can get water boiling hot quickly.

'Raw shrimp only need a few minutes.

'Adding instant puree to the shrimp water gives some extra flavor. Garlic butter makes everything go better.”

Another added: 'This is one of the most insane videos I've seen on this app.'

And a third said: 'Bro, that's absolutely not possible.'

Rules on the TSA website state: 'Spare (uninstalled) lithium-ion and lithium-metal batteries, including power banks and cell phone charging cases, may be carried in carry-on baggage only.

“With airline approval, passengers may also carry up to two spare larger lithium-ion batteries or lithium-metal batteries.”

It's not the first time Barfly has made headlines after previously sharing a series of gruesome bathroom cooking videos documenting his attempts to whip up baby back ribs with a hairdryer and sous vide-ing steak in a toilet.
