Google’s next Pixel event is less than a week away, and yet new details about the device continue to leak. This time we learned that the wearable will get the Body Responses feature that was previously featured on the Fitbit Sense 2.
This batch of information is coming true industry insider Evan Blass on X (the platform formerly known as Twitter). The watch face shows how your body responds to stress at certain times of the day, according to the images he posted. Each time period is highlighted with an emoji that makes a face to match the mood. For example, a user might feel particularly stressed at 11 a.m., feel fine around noon, and feel a little sick at 1 p.m. 9To5Google points out this is better than what the Fitbit Sense 2 has, as the user interface is cleaner than before and a lot “easier to understand at a glance.”
What’s especially interesting is that this indicates that the Pixel Watch 2 may have an “electrodermal activity sensor,” or EDA for short, something the original model doesn’t have. This technology works by measuring certain factors, such as the amount of sweat produced during stress and the temperature of your skin.
And as you can see in the post above, you can replace the plastic band with a chic metal band for that extra pizzazz.
The last photo Blass posted is of the “new interface for Fitbit workouts.” The user interface has a heart rate monitor on the side that consists of segmented pieces. A “target zone” indicating where your heart rate should be will be highlighted. Next to the meter is a more detailed display that shows the BPM (beats per minute), plus how long you spent in the target zone.
There’s apparently more to the interface as there are pagination points at the bottom, but this single screen is all we see. Fortunately, there are clues. Another 9to5Google report claims that the user interface will have “Pace Training” on the screen, as well as “automatic start and stop reminders for workouts.”
Colorful series
In addition to the feature leak, German tech news site WinFuture had its own presentation of four colors in which the Pixel Watch 2 may be available. Official names for these shades are not given, but just by looking at them we can see that the wearable will be available in black, white, gray and baby blue. It is unknown if the aforementioned metal band will have its own colors.
Of course, take these leaks with a grain of salt. Things can always change at the last minute. Anyway, we don’t have to wait long, because the The Pixel event takes place on October 4.
