The must-have guide to the capital for drinkers: ‘Pint-lover’ creates a map of London showing every late-licensed pub and bar, with over 180 logged to date
Writer James McIntosh is on a mission: to ensure drinkers in London are ‘never more than 20 minutes from a place to get a pint after 2am’.
To that end, the self-proclaimed ‘pintman’ has produced a map showing every late-licensed pub and bar in the capital. To make the grade, the establishment must have free admission, be open until 2 a.m. or later — and not be a nightclub.
So far, James ‘believes’ to have logged 181 pubs and bars and told MailOnline Travel that he is ‘constantly adding and subtracting based on people’s feedback’.
And the feedback comes thick and fast on Twitter, where James is known as Jimmy Mac.
Are tweet from the card has been retweeted over 220 times, liked over 3500 times and dozens of pubs and bars have been flagged for inclusion.

James said on Twitter: “Things I found: There are a lot of places open until 1am or 1:30am. It’s good, but it’s not quite right. Almost all of these places are only open late on Thurs – Sat.
All in all, the nightly verdict on London is: not as bad as people complain, but it could be better.
“Please let me know what I’ve missed. Together we can make sure we’re never more than 20 minutes from a place to get a pint after 2am.’
Does James have favourites?
He told MailOnline Travel: ‘Probably PJ O’Connor’s in Wood Green and the Hornsey Arms in Hornsey. They’re the ones that started it all – proper late night pubs. I then had to expand it to bars, because there just aren’t that many pubs open after about 1am.’
James added that ‘perhaps my favorite thing about doing this was discovering the wildly optimistic opening hours of Sean Og’s in Harrow’ – it’s open 24 hours a day.

His creation received much praise.
Twitter user Jack Pitt-Brooke commented, “Jimmy, you really are doing the gentleman’s job.”
And ‘The Lingerista’ said ‘thank you for your service’.
