Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour, 77, enjoys sightseeing in Venice during family trip

David Gilmour seemed in high spirits as he soaked up the sun on Thursday during a lavish family holiday in Venice.

The Pink Floyd guitarist and singer, 77, rocked a long blue jacket over a black T-shirt and trousers as he went sightseeing.

The star kept herself comfortable in a pair of sneakers and protected from the sun under a woven hat and dark sunglasses.

He was spotted having lunch with his wife Polly Samson, 60, and youngest daughter Romany, 21.

The trio later walked around the Italian city together before hopping on a lavish tour boat.

His wife Polly looked classy in an oversized pink shirt she put on with black slacks.

She added a white vest over the song while wearing sunglasses and carrying her camera across her body.

Meanwhile, Romany cut a summer figure in navy blue shorts and a blue short-sleeved blouse.

She added green-rimmed glasses and completed her outfit with a pair of black trainers and a large tote bag.

David married Polly in 1994 and they share four children, Charlie, 34, Joe, 28, Gabriel, 26, and Romany.

He was previously married to model Virginia ‘Ginger’ Hasenbein in 1975. They have four children, Alice, 47, Clare, 44, Sara, 40, and Matthew, 37.

It comes after Pink Floyd guitarist Dave’s wife attacked his former bandmate Roger Waters earlier this year, labeling him a “Putin apologist” and “anti-Semitic.”

Waters, who has labeled Polly’s claims as “vastly inaccurate” and “inflammatory,” recently gave an interview to the German magazine Berliner Zeitung, where he denounced claims that he was an anti-Semite.

The musician shared the article on Twitter, writing, “The truth will set us free.

“Against the disgraceful and despicable smear campaign of the Israeli lobby to expose me as an anti-Semite, which I am not, never have been and never will be.”

Waters, who was involved in a boycott of Israel, voiced several controversial opinions in the piece, including that “Putin may not be a bigger mobster than Joe Biden.”

He wrote: ‘Surely the main reason for supplying arms to Ukraine is profit for the arms industry. And I wonder: Is Putin a bigger mobster than Joe Biden and all those who have presided over American politics since World War II? I’m not so sure. Didn’t Putin invade Vietnam or Iraq? Did he?’

He also claimed that Israel was involved in “genocide” and compared the events to Britain’s behavior “during our colonial period.”

He said: “We thought we were inherently superior to the indigenous people, just like the Israelis in Palestine. Well, we weren’t and neither were the Israeli Jews.’

Shortly after Waters posted the link to the article, Polly herself posted a tweet – seemingly in response to the article.

In her tweet, Samson described Waters as a “Putin apologist” who was “anti-Semitic towards [his] rotten core.’

The fiery remark also included several other unsubstantiated claims about Waters.

Shortly afterwards, Waters’ team released a response from his own Twitter account, stating: ‘Roger Waters is aware of the inflammatory and wildly inaccurate comments Polly Samson has made about him on Twitter, which he fully refutes.

‘He is currently being advised about his position.’

Roger Waters founded Pink Floyd in 1965 with Syd Barrett (guitar, vocals), Nick (drums) and Richard (keyboards, vocals).

David joined the band two years later in 1967 and Syd left the following year due to mental health issues.

There were several reports of infighting with the band, with Richard leaving the group in 1979, followed by Roger in 1985.

Roger has amassed a stunning net worth of £247 million thanks to a hugely successful solo career, as well as his companies Roger Waters Music UK and Roger Waters Music Overseas.

MailOnline reached out to representatives for Roger Waters for comment at the time.
