Legendary Italian styling house Pininfarina has launched a new £3m limited edition 350km/h electric supercar in honor of an F1 racing pioneer – and only five will be built.
Automobili Pininfarina’s new zero-emission Battista Edizione Nino Farina makes its dynamic world premiere this week at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, which runs from Thursday 13 to Sunday 16 July.
It celebrates the racing career of the first ever F1 World Champion Nino Farina, nephew of design icon and founder of Pininfarina, Battista ‘Pinin’ Farina.
And it also fires the starting gun for a blitz of new future models to be showcased in the coming months.
Pininfarina Battista Edizione Nino Farina: the £3 million electric car built in honor of an F1 racing pioneer
The Battista Edizione Nino Farina will be driven up the famous Goodwood Hill by former F1 star and mountain record holder Nick Heidfeld, nicknamed ‘Quick Nick’ for his fast performance, who also played a key role in Battista’s development.
Called a ‘hyper GT’, it is the second limited edition in the Pininfarina Battista range and follows that of the Battista Anniversario. And each costs about £1 million more than the ‘standard’ Battista.
Each of the five Edizione Nino Farina cars has an ‘unmistakable’ exterior design, including Rosso Nino paint with contrasting white Bianco Sestriere and blue Iconica Blu finishes, special Glorioso Gold alloy wheels and refined details, including a distinctive ’01’ image on the side of the body. is painted and not pasted.

Each will also feature a unique aluminum door plaque celebrating one of five notable milestones in Nino Farina’s life and motor racing career, including his birth and first F1 pole position and race win.
Powered by four electric motors – one for each wheel – and a 120 kWh battery, the 1,900 hp (1,400 kW) four-wheel drive supercar accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.86 seconds, to 200 km/h in 4.75 seconds. seconds and 300 km/h in less than 12 seconds – with a top speed of more than 350 km/h.
The company said: ‘Its launch control technology contributes to the faster acceleration of the Formula 1 car’.
And for that, its powerful brakes take it from 100km/h to a stop in just 31 metres, which Pininfarina says officially makes it ‘the world’s fastest braking EV’.
The range is 296 miles and takes it from London to just before Newcastle.
The T-shaped liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery pack is located in the center tunnel and behind the seats to ensure a low center of gravity and improve handling and performance.

There are five driving modes: Calma (calm), Pura (pure), Energica (energetic), Furiosa (furious) and Carattere (character).
Inside, bespoke two-tone interior features include a driver’s seat trimmed in black durable leather and a contrasting beige leather passenger seat, both with black Alcantara trim and exclusive ‘Nino Farina’ inscriptions.
Automobili Pininfarina said of its latest Battista Edizione Nino Farina model: ‘It represents the fascinating story of F1 racing legend Nino Farina, the first ever F1 World Champion and cousin of design icon Battista ‘Pinin’ Farina.
It is fitting that he will make his dynamic debut just a few hundred yards from the Goodwood Circuit, where Nino drove to victory in the 1951 Goodwood Trophy – an F1 non-championship race.
