LIMINGTON, Maine– A 62-year-old pilot suffered minor injuries when his plane crashed less than a mile from an airport due to an engine failure, state police said.
The yellow single-engine plane came to rest nose-down in some brush Thursday afternoon, and Bradley Marson was walking around the scene when a state trooper located the crash site. Medical personnel assessed the pilot and he was ultimately transported to hospital with minor injuries.
The pilot said he had just taken off from Limington-Harmon Airport in Limington when his engine failed. The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.
According to the FAA, the plane was a kit known by Flying K Enterprise as a Skyraider II. It is known in the aviation community as an affordable ultralight aircraft.
