Pilot feared dead after airplane crashes at Palmers Island with two on board
A pilot and two passengers of a light aircraft are seriously feared after it crashed on the New South Wales north coast.
Emergency services received reports of a crash at McIntyres Airfield on Palmers Island, about 120 kilometers north of Coffs Harbour, just before 11.30am on Sunday.
The plane’s pilot is feared dead while two others were treated by paramedics.
A NSW Ambulance spokesperson said several ambulances and a rescue helicopter had been sent to the scene.
NSW Police are also rushing to the scene as a Rural Fire Service crew provides ‘fire protection’.
