- A plane has crashed in Queensland
A pilot has been killed after a catastrophic crash of a light aircraft in Queensland.
The crash took place in Palgrave, south-west of Warwick, in the Southern Downs region, just after midday.
A local farmer rushed to the scene after seeing a fire breaking out on his property and tried to fight the flames himself.
Sadly, the pilot – who was the only person on board the aircraft – died at the scene.

Paramedics, fire brigade and police are now on site.
The crash sparked a nearby grass fire, initially making it difficult for rescue teams to reach the wreckage.
