Pilbara rollover: Man charged over crash which killed young girl at De Grey

A man is due to appear in court over the death of a three-year-old girl who died in a single-vehicle car crash.

Emergency services were called to reports of a maroon Holden Captiva driving on an access road near the Great Northern Highway, leaving the road and overturning at De Grey in the Pilbara region of Western Australia at around 10.50pm on Wednesday evening.

Paramedics treated a three-year-old girl who was a passenger in the car for serious injuries, but she died at the scene.

Three women and two men were also treated for minor injuries after the crash.

Western Australia police have now charged a 24-year-old man from South Hedland with manslaughter, dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm and dangerous driving causing bodily harm.

He is due to appear in Stirling Gardens Court on September 18.
