Piers Morgan tells Gary Neville to “PIPE DOWN” after the pundit claimed Arsenal would not win the Premier League and finish behind Manchester United despite being eight points clear at the top, before challenging him to a bet £5,000 charity.

Piers Morgan has criticized Gary Neville and challenged him to a charity bet after the pundit said Arsenal would not win the league.

The Gunners moved eight points clear of second-place Manchester City when they beat Tottenham 2-0 in a dominating victory in the North London derby on Sunday.

After the match, Neville claimed that Arsenal would not win the league and also said that his former club Manchester United would finish above Mikel Arteta’s team.

The TV presenter also challenges the expert to a charity bet regarding his predictions.

The pundit was adamant that City would emerge as champions due to their squad’s superior depth, before adding that he hopes Arsenal come first.

And Morgan, who supports the Gunners, responded to Neville’s prediction on Twitter, before challenging him to bet a significant sum of money.

He tweeted: ‘Get down T-Bag. I’ll bet you £5,000 to charity that Arsenal finish top of the league.

The reference to ‘T-Bag’ was related to an iconic villain on the US drama series Prison Break, who Neville previously revealed was called as a nickname by his teammates during his career due to perceived similarities in their appearance.

Along with Man City winning the title, Neville said that United would finish above the Gunners.

Speaking to his own podcast, Neville had said: ‘No (Arsenal won’t win the league). But I said that Leicester would not win the league.

They won’t win the league. Manchester City will win the league, and I think Man Utd will finish second, and I know that will upset Arsenal fans!

Morgan’s reference to ‘T-Bag’ is related to the iconic villain from the American drama series Prison Break played by actor Robert Knepper.

I prefer Arsenal to win the league than Manchester City. I think it would be absolutely sensational for the Premier League.

“I think about watching the Premier League, we have seen City sweep, as well as Liverpool, in the last five years. To think that Arsenal could come and win it, it adds to our league, it makes our league great.

“I would love to see Man Utd win it, but I don’t think that will happen this season.”

Pep Guardiola’s side have struggled in recent weeks, losing their last two games against United and Southampton, while also dropping points against Premier League contenders Everton.

However, Neville backed them to turn it around and believed that the depth and quality of their squad would mean that they would eventually dominate Arsenal.

He explained: ‘The reality is that I think at some point Man City will run. Once they do, they have to play Arsenal twice.

“If Erling Haaland starts to work, if City starts to purr, if the defense starts to get a little stronger than it has been, and they need Ruben Dias back if they can, I think City will win it.”

Neville doesn’t think Arsenal will win the league despite the Gunners being eight points clear

“At some point, there will be a very difficult period for Arsenal this season. Is it conceivable that Arsenal will continue as they are? I don’t think it is

‘Could they draw two and lose one in a three-game period, and if they did, would their lead be lost and the package end with them?

“That’s what I think is going to happen, we’ll see a traditional Premier League season where one team comes out, the pacemaker, and then they go back a bit.”

United are unbeaten in nine games in all competitions after Saturday’s memorable 2-1 win over Man City.

They travel to Arsenal next Sunday in what will be another test for Arteta’s high-flying side, who have lost just once in 18 Premier League games this season.
