Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is set to join Chelsea, sealing a reunion with boss Thomas Tuchel, as Premier League clubs passed the £2billion mark in a record transfer-window spree.

Chelsea agreed to give Barcelona £12m plus left back Marcos Alonso for Aubameyang, who only moved to the Nou Camp in February on a free after his exit from Arsenal.

Aubameyang will join Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly, Marc Cucurella, Carney Chukwuemeka and Wesley Fofana at Chelsea after new owner Todd Boehly splashed out £280m this summer.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will leave Barcelona for Chelsea having joined the Catalan club earlier this year

The deal will form part of a record window for the top flight, with Nottingham Forest signing a staggering 19 players.

Aubameyang will have to wait several weeks for his Chelsea debut after suffering a broken jaw in an armed robbery at his home in the early hours of Monday.

Chelsea also sealed a season-long loan deal for Juventus’s Denis Zakaria after being frustrated in their attempts to land two central midfielders, Ajax’s Edson Alvarez and PSV Eindhoven’s Ibrahim Sangare.

The London club also allowed 21-year-old Scotland midfielder Billy Gilmour to join Brighton for £9m.

Thomas Tuchel will reunite with the forward who he enjoyed a great relationship with in Dortmund
