Pierre Emerick Aubamayeng scores stunning bicycle kick to end five-game goal drought… with some fans stating it was BETTER than Alejandro Garnacho’s strike against Everton

Pierre Emerick Aubamayeng scored a sublime bicycle kick against Ajax in the Europa League on Thursday evening to end a five-match drought and spark a debate.

Amine Harit received the ball wide and drove into the penalty area before passing the ball to the former Arsenal and Chelsea striker, who launched himself into the air and performed a sensational bicycle kick.

The goal caused the Marseille fans to erupt and the French team took the lead after 47 minutes, 3-2. Aubamayeng scored an injury-time penalty to secure a hat-trick, having found the back of the net for the first time after nine minutes.

However, it was the circumlocution that got people talking. Many took to social media to say it was 'better' than Sublime overhead kick from Alejandro Garnacho Everton last week.

However, some were in favor of Garnacho's strike, saying: 'That's not true. Garnacho got the best bicycle kick.' Another added: 'It's just not that, is it?'.

One social media user wrote: 'In terms of the angle from which the goal is scored, Garnacho has the edge…'

While one fan joked: 'Clearly those who say Aubamayeng's effort was as good as Garnacho's are Arsenal fans.'

Aubamayeng won't worry too much about whose goal was better; he must have just been happy to have found the back of the net after struggling to score in the last five games for Marseille.

The hat-trick hero hopes to further build on his achievements when Marseille get started Rennes at home in Ligue 1 on Sunday evening.
