A nightclub security guard and father of two young girls was brutally beaten to death by a group of nearly a dozen people outside a Hollywood nightclub.
Daniel Sandifer, 32, was killed Sunday morning after a group approached him and started an altercation that turned violent and Sandifer was stomped and beaten.
The young father was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
According to the family, Sandifer was also his elderly grandmother’s primary caretaker.
“He just didn’t deserve this, a father of two girls,” a friend of Sandifer told ABC7. He didn’t deserve any of this. Good guy… good guy, loved him as a person, family oriented man.”

Police said a group of 11 men stomped and attacked Sandifer outside the Dragonfly club
The brutal attack occurred around 2 a.m. as police responded to Dragonfly nightclub in the 6500 block of Santa Monica Boulevard.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found a man — later identified as Sandifer — lying unconscious in the street and not breathing, the LAPD said.
The altercation began when a group of men, all in their twenties, approached Sandifer and began a confrontation, beating him up after he fell to the floor.
It is not clear what prompted the gruesome attack.
A friend of the young father who spoke to ABC 7 described Sandifer’s attack and death as completely unnecessary.
“It was cruel. That shouldn’t have happened,” he said. “They should have just let it go, walked away. He had a life. He had two children to go home. Now he can’t see his children.’
Sandifer’s father also spoke to ABC 7, but did not appear on camera.
He told reporters that the 32-year-old was his firstborn and that he and his loved ones are currently mourning the death.

On Monday, flowers and candles were left outside the nightclub where he worked.
“As we begin to process and mourn the loss of our colleague, Dragonfly will be closed,” the club wrote on Instagram. “Our hearts are with his family right now.”
KCAL spoke to Brittany Jones, Sandifer’s ex-wife, who said the family is dealing with unspeakable pain from their loss.
“As a mother of his children, this hurts in so many ways,” Jones said. “You have no idea.”
According to friends and relatives who spoke to local media, Sandifer was taking care of his elderly grandmother along with his two young daughters.
Jones, along with LAPD detectives, is now asking anyone who saw or witnessed the incident to come forward.
“If anyone has information, please provide that information,” Jones said. “And try to get justice for Daniel.”
‘We know that people often record these kinds of incidents on their mobile phones. We would encourage them to share that with us because it can help bring a sense of justice to this person’s family,” said LAPD Detective Samuel Marullo.
The suspects allegedly left on foot, heading west on Santa Monica Boulevard.
Security footage of local businesses has been captured and detectives are currently examining it to obtain information.
No suspects have yet been identified and the motive is still unclear at this time.
Anyone with information is asked to contact LAPD at 213-382-9470.
