Police have arrested a retired Colorado doctor on suspicion of gun and drug abuse after he robbed a luxury yacht and discovered “prostitutes” on board.
Dr. Scott Burke, 69, has been charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm, possession of ammunition and handling class A and B drugs.
Authorities boarded the boat in the harbor of the posh island of Massachusetts, with the 22-meter motor yacht registered in the Cayman Islands.

Burke, the founder of Denver Spine and Rehab, will appear in Nantucket District Court Monday for arraignment on the charges. It is unclear if he is still in custody.

The retired doctor appears to be the manager of JessConn Charters LLC – based in Florida – though it’s unclear how much and if he charged customers to travel on the ship
Relatives declined to comment when DailyMail.com contacted them, and the Nantucket Police Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Law enforcement sources told the Nantucket Current that sex workers were discovered on the boat during the raid.

Burke, who currently lives in a $2.3 million mansion in Englewood, Colorado, appears to have named the ship after his children.
The retired doctor, who set up a health insurance company where both his children work, appears to have previously practiced several other trades.
He also appears to be the manager of Florida-based JessConn Charters, though it’s unclear how much or if he charged customers for traveling on the ship.
The Coast Guard and Nantucket Police Department have launched an investigation after a woman named the Jess Conn was taken off the ship following a “wellness check.”
Harbor Master Sheila Lucey told us Nantucket stream that the woman was removed from the boat by paramedics.
Lieutenant Angus MacVicar of the Nantucket Police Department told the Current: “Yes, we are currently working on an involved case and therefore cannot comment on the details.”

The Jess Conn arrived in Nantucket harbor on August 23 after traveling from Newport, Rhode Island.

The ship recently ran aground in Florida in May but appears to have escaped without significant damage in the incident.
Jeff Wecal, the executive petty officer of Coast Guard Station Brant Point, confirmed that his crew is assisting the Nantucket Police Department with its investigation.
The boat was designed by Jeff Leishman and has four docks of over 24 meters each.
It has three large guest cabins, an owner’s cabin, a laundry room, a large saloon and a formal dining room.
The yacht also has an onboard hot tub and can accommodate up to eight guests and accommodation for two crew members.
