The irate McDonald’s customer who allegedly shot and killed lawyer Jeffrey Limmer after asking him to stop shouting at staff has been named as police continue to hunt him.

Anthony Martin Landry, 57, faces a murder charge following the shooting at the fast-food restaurant on a Texas highway, according to Houston police.

Jeffrey Limmer, 46, intervened when the customer began yelling at McDonald’s employees at the branch at 8147 Katy Freeway, Houston, at 6 p.m. Saturday.

Limmer tried to calm him down, and as they argued outside the store, the angry man went to his car, pulled out a gun and shot the lawyer twice.

The shooter then fled the scene in a blue early 2000s Ford pickup. Police were called to the scene and found Limmer unconscious with multiple gunshot wounds, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Landry reportedly has a lengthy criminal record and was out on $10,000 bond for aggravated assault at the time of the shooting.

He had hit a family member with a stick in February, causing bodily harm, the New York Post reported, citing court documents.

He had to appear in court on May 10.

According to reports, Landry previously faced several criminal charges for possession of crack cocaine, evading detention and forgery.

Limmer was an associate at the Lewis Brisbois law firm in Houston after attending the University of Texas and then completing law school at South Texas College of Law.

His family said in a statement obtained by Fox 26 Houston that they hope their loved one’s killer is arrested and justice is served.

“Our family is relieved to hear that the suspect has been identified, and we pray that he is captured as soon as possible so that he cannot hurt anyone else.

“Additionally, we pray for the safety of law enforcement as they work to bring him to justice.

“We are grateful to the community for your overwhelming love and support, and we ask that you respect our privacy as we mourn the loss of our dear Jeff.”

“He always just wanted to fight for the little guy and do what’s right,” said Limmer’s sister, Jennifer Thomas.

She said he had spent his career trying to help others, so she wasn’t surprised to hear he had tried to help employees.

“Knowing Jeff, he’s the one who always says, ‘Calm down. “It’s not that big of a deal,” and redirect the situation,” she said.

According to investigators, Limmer pushed the angry customer to the ground, at which point the man got off the floor and ran to his car before fatally shooting Limmer.

Limmer then ran back to the McDonald’s where staff called paramedics.

His heartbroken sister said he was a “Good Samaritan who tries to do the right thing and doesn’t let McDonald’s workers go through that.”

His friend, Greg Monteverde, told Fox26: “Using curse words and other profanity, Jeff intervened to try to de-escalate the situation and calm him down. I thought it was brave. I respect it.’

“I think a lot of us knew Jeff as that kind of person. At school he would invite someone who wasn’t the most popular student to a party or things like that.’

He added: ‘He’s in heaven. He looks down on all of us and says it’s going to be okay.’
