A 14-year-old girl who was killed when she was thrown from a BMW after it crashed into a parked UPS truck has been identified as an honorable student who dreamed of becoming a doctor.
Fortune Williams was a passenger in the car on Wednesday with a 16-year-old boy who her mother said was driving “at high speed” in New York City’s Queens borough.
That was a horrible video posted on the Citizen App, captured the moment the red 2005 BMW 325i crashed into the back of the parked truck. The driver survived, but Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.
The speed of the BMW rocked the UPS truck violently from side to side, knocking the delivery driver to the ground.

The incident happened Wednesday night at North Conduit Avenue and 160th Street in the Springfield Gardens neighborhood of Queens, New York City.
Keisha Francis, the teen’s devastated mother, told The New York Post that she last spoke to her daughter less than an hour before the crash.
“Before I hung up, she said, ‘Mommy, I love you.’
Francis said her daughter was a “beautiful, smart, loving, kind, caring, little girl” and that she was a “very loving child.” And she is loved by many.’
Williams, who was a student at Springfield Gardens High School, took nursing classes. She was an honorable student and dreamed of becoming a doctor.
“She had an honor roll ceremony on the 24th, and we were preparing for that, and her birthday is coming up on June 4,” Francis said. ‘She loved music. She loved to dance.’
Francis desperately searched through the rubble at the scene on Thursday morning for anything that might remind her of her daughter.
Speak against ABC7, she said, ‘I found her bracelet, I can’t sleep. I’m coming to get her. I’ve come to get my daughter. I can’t live without my daughter.’
She continued, “My life will never be the same without Fortune. Fortune is a sweetheart. She’s a loving, caring child.”
Keisha Francis, the teen’s devastated mother, burst into tears as she recalled the last conversation she had with her daughter less than an hour before the crash.

Francis also told the news site that she was at work when the tragedy happened and that her daughter had gone out with a friend in their car.
The police are now investigating why the 16-year-old boy was behind the wheel with another minor. The NYPD says he was driving on a learner’s permit and speeding.
The driver’s name has not been released. He was taken to Cohen Children’s Medical Center, where his condition is said to be stable.
The 49-year-old UPS driver was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where his condition is said to be stable.
