SNL alumnus Chris Redd has been seen smiling for the first time since he was attacked by a man wearing a ‘brass duster’ – saying he’s ‘okay and heals quickly’.
Redd, 37, was left with two black eyes and a large cut on his nose after Wednesday night’s attack outside the Comedy Cellar in Greenwich Village.
Police are investigating the incident, but no arrests have been made and the suspect is still at large, with Redd needing stitches on his nose.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, Redd said: “I slept in like crazy but I want to thank you, thank you for all the messages of love, the jokes and the concern! I’ll be back soon to tell you some good things.’
The comedian said he would move any shows that had to be canceled due to his injuries, which was… pictured smiling with his wound healing by TMZ.
According to his Facebook page, Redd will appear in Tacoma, Washington, Nov. 11-13, Rochester, New York, Nov. 17-19, Springfield, Missouri, Dec. 2 and 3, and East Providence, Rhode Island, between Dec. 15. and 17.
In the same post, Redd also posted a rumor that the attacker took a necklace from him. He joked, “You just write everything.”

Redd’s HBO Max Special Chris Redd: Why Am I Like This? will be published on November 3. The special was produced by Conan O’Brien.
The funny man will also make a pre-recorded appearance on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live Monday night. The appearance was recorded prior to the attack.
Surveillance footage shows spectators immediately jumping from their seats to help the comedian, whose nose was broken by the impact.
Staff at a nearby restaurant had to scrub the sidewalk with hot water after the attack to clean up the blood. The attack on Redd by a mysterious assailant was not provoked at all.
Witness Fabrizio Cavallacci, owner of Cafe Reggio next to the comedy club, told PIX11: “He had his nose cracked – not broken, but split – and a lot of blood came out.”

“He was bleeding really bad.”
He said, “After an ambulance came … we took a bucket of hot water to clean the sidewalk, because it was very messy.”
The cafe owner said two masked men ran off after the attack and “things like this happen quite often” in the area.
