‘It will be fine for Saturday’: Photo of Christian Pulisic celebrating from the HOSPITAL after being injured scoring the goal that led the US past Iran to set up a confrontation with the Netherlands…as USMNT- star says he is ‘f***ing proud’ of his team
Christian Pulisic has given US fans and his national team a definite boost ahead of Saturday morning’s all-or-nothing round of 16 clash with the Netherlands.
Pulisic scored the winning goal in their last group game against Iran to secure progression, before succumbing to an abdominal injury that occurred while scoring. After his substitution, he was taken to hospital.
Amid fears over his condition, what appears to be a Snapchat photo of Pulisic from his hospital bed has surfaced on social media, retweeted by the US team’s official account, cheering him on.

The photo was captioned, “So f***ing proud of my boys I’ll be done Saturday, don’t worry.”
The Netherlands is waiting for them, which finished first in group A, ahead of Senegal, Ecuador and host country Qatar.
Without Pulisic, the Dutch would be almost too big to conquer, but with him they have every chance to beat the Orange.

Pulisic has received praise from teammates and media since the US qualified for a shot at the quarterfinals.
Coach Gregg Berhalter did not provide a detailed update on the Chelsea winger following his side’s victory over long-time political rival Iran.
“No status update,” Berhalter said of his star man.
Pulisic sprinted to reach Sergino Dest’s ball over the six yard area to convert it for the lead
“But I’ve said all along that it’s great when one of your best players is one of the hardest working players. I can’t say enough good things about Christian.”
Midfielder Tyler Adams echoed his coach’s admiration for “Captain America” during his post-game speech.
“How many goals has he scored like that in his career?” Adams said.
Pulisic was left for treatment and he couldn’t celebrate a huge goal for his team
‘I mean, back after arriving, he’s brilliant. The way his timing is in the box and getting in front of that ball, he will do anything for this team to help us win.
‘[He’s a] obviously a huge player for us. Praying for him, hoping everything will be alright.
‘But he’ll hold on. I know he will do everything he can to play in the next game. So we count on him.’

For the third time in four World Cups, the USA is through to the last 16. After dominating and, if there is criticism, wasting too many chances, the young Americans retreated to watch the nervous final exchanges.
It wasn’t without drama for nine minutes of stoppage time, and yet it ended in a famous victory for the Stars and Stripes.
Courage and bravery abounded for a wonderfully hostile crowd, determined to see the US crash at Iran’s expense, just as it did in Lyon in 1998.
The United States team, including former Newcastle player DeAndre Yedlin (C), celebrates advancing to the Round of 16, where they will play the Netherlands on Saturday 10a ET
I always say it’s us against the world. Because no one believed the US could play good football,” star winger Tim Weah said afterwards. “We’re just here to show the world.
“I don’t think it’s better than doing it with the people you love. My family is in the stands and we do it for them.’
The fast-growing American team will then face its doubters and the Dutch on Saturday morning.
